West Coast Hopped Up
Pale Ale
Make this beer if you
like: A crisp, hop bitterness. Pine trees and grapefruit.
The West Coast American-style Pale Ale (APA) is a different
beast from its British cousin. We
Americans seem to love a bit more bite to our pint in general. West Coast Pale Ales have nice fruity,
caramel malt notes with bold piney-grapefruit hops. This is a great recipe for the new brewer,
since you don’t need to steep any specialty grains. This is definitely a lazy afternoon
endeavor. Relax and smell the hops.
