Our Black Smoke Pale Ale (H.G. Wells? War of the Worlds? Anyone?) is a beer that has the qualities of a
traditional American Pale Ale – fruity, floral, and herbaceous aromatics, a hop
bitterness, medium body and alcohol content, a nice caramel balance and a crisp
and dry finish – that has been “blackened” with the addition of some very dark
and smoky sumptuous specialty grains.
This beer has a good hop presence, but the focus is not on hops, it’s on
the balance and smoke.
